SYRACUSE SIDE HUSTLES

Notably, Randy was a production editor for a startup podcast in central New York. Syracuse Side Hustles profiled 12 people in the city who were working multiple jobs, with a specific focus on their secondary endeavors. He mixed and mastered six of the episodes, featured here, and produced three in their entirety. A sample of his audio work is available below.

Pre-Production

During the initial production of Syracuse Side Hustles, interview recordings were cut and edited to construct an initial draft of the episode. Assistant producers assembled the clips into a cohesive piece before passing upward for the production editor to configure, layer in voiceovers, and fine-tune in post-production. The clip below is the original file prior to any additional editing or mixing.

Edit, Mix, Master, & Post

Once pre-production was complete and rough cuts of episodes were delivered, assistant producers transferred files to be properly cut and published. Randy was one of two audio engineers responsible for the revision and post-production of episodes — the other being Syracuse Side Hustle’s executive editor Lizzie Goldsmith. Sampled below is the full episode after reworking the piece.
